Answer: The morality of mandatory detention The purpose of this article is to stress on the moral sides of mandatory detention and the laws related to this practice. The refugees who seek asylum, they form a subgroup of immigrants and various researches focused on this group of immigrants, found a likewise pattern in respect to citizens attitudes (Opeskin Ghezelbash, 2015). Vigorous researches made it sure that gender, age, education political and socio economic views affect the attitudes towards the immigrants who seek asylum. It is seen that the factual evidences this article portrays, means that the governments are nowadays stressing on these issues and that can bring some level of motivation and confidence among the refugees across the globe seeking protection. It is a fact that there are many negative remarks regarding this issue is made by the people who are of very low educational background, without having proper knowledge of the outside world and from poor socio-economic background (Tay, 2013). Apart from them people from different nations are uniting for the cause of this burning issue that our world is facing nowadays. According to this article, there are a lot of hidden ideologies behind these practices as this has been a problem since the birth of mankind but in todays market this issue has become a lot more serious than ever due to various political unrests in few areas of the globe (Barnes Barnes, 2017). In many countries it is seen that the refugees seeking asylum are living a life in hellish condition as the refugee camps are lacks basic sanitary amenities, the hygiene is poor and the food they receive are of very low nutrition value. Sometimes they get victimized by human traffickers and even by the army or police (Atak, Hudson Nakache, 2017). Women and kids get abused sexually or they are sold to human traffickers at times. In short it can be said that governments barely look at their sufferance in most of the times. It is a fact that, sometimes government looks at this huge refugee camps like a cheap human source and employ them in various works giving them very low wages or no wages. In this article it has been portrayed that the world is changing and the world leaders are looking at these issues more practically and they are investing a lot of time and money to improve the conditions of the political refugees and this article shows clearly that some changes need to be done immediately. These practices need to be stopped immediately for the betterment of the sociopolitical situation of the world and to stop these kinds of practices the world-leaders need to think it through and come up with excellent unique and innovative ideas to deal with this situation. This is a burning issue in todays world that can be a potential threat to the basic rights of man and this need to be stopped immediately (Koleth, 2012). Silverman, S. J., Nethery, A. (2014). Introduction: Understanding Immigration Detention. Understanding Immigration Detention Purpose The purpose of this article is to portray many ideas about mandatory detention can be acquired and those are discussed in the summary. In short it can be said that, the people who are accused of immigration detention are generally imprisoned without any proper investigation to justify whether their detention is justified or not. Impact on people According to this article, the illegal refugees get detained as they fail to meet some administrative criterions, and the immigration detention can be implemented on the individuals of a whole category not considering what circumstances they have gone through (Silverman Nethery, 2014). There is another issue with immigration detainees and that is they do not have any basic idea of how long they have to serve in the prison sells as in some cases, some individuals were seen serving in prison for over a decade (Phillips Spinks, 2013). Generally, two types of individuals are detained due to immigration issues around the globe. The first category is individuals who are noncitizen of a particular nation and they entered the territory of a particular country or they are found to cross the border line to trespass to another country illegally. The latter categories of individuals are someone, who is staying in a particular nation without a valid visa or passport, and after when the investig ations are done they get arrested. In most cases people from these two categories get detained. Changes noticed The focus of this portfolio is also on the changes that can be brought in regarding this issue where the detention of the individuals who seek asylums, as there are some important legal, political, moral and practical issues those the detention of asylum seekers raise (Dastyari, 2015). Asylum seekers are those, who are leaving their own countries due to political unrest or any issues and trying to seek protection from other countries, for an example the citizens of Syria are seeking shelter due to the unrest in their mother land nowadays. In this case it is worth mentioning that, according to 1951 Geneva Convention related to the refugee convention, a refugee is an individual who has been given protection status under Article 1(a) in the Refugee Convention. It is an important issue that, a minor faction of the 42 million people who are living in a refugee like situation in the world, either has official refugee status, or they have access to the UNHCR or a delegate state to seek prot ection. Some of them live in the refugee camps and others survive in the network of the ethnic groups, it is a fact that their life is full of insecurities and some of them have to go to a state where they can gain an official refugee status and a chance to start afresh (Landau Amit, 2014). Hidden ideas From this article, it can be said that there are some hidden intentions of the government of some countries, and those are using this huge manpower at a very cheap rate, or suing them for political purposes, and that is something very wrong as they are seeking help and using them for anyones benefit would be against the ethics. Canetti, D., Snider, K., Pedersen, A., Hall, B. (2017).Threatened or Threatening? How Ideology Shapes Asylum Seekers Immigration Policy Attitudes in Israel and Australia. Retrieved 16 August 2017, from Threatened or Threatening Purpose The purpose of this journal is to portray some serious issues regarding mandatory detention can be found and those are mentioned here. It is been a fact that the laws regarding mandatory detention of the political refugees are unjustified and the impact of these laws are very harmful to the people around the world (Canetti et al., 2017). Impact on people Nowadays looking at the shady sides of these laws, people are generally supporting the refugees and they want them to stay and take protection. In todays world, looking at the global politics and situations, there are innumerable people out there seeking help and protection from various nations as their mother land is war-damaged. Governments sometimes look at the refugees like burdens and sometimes they think that those people would make the population over burdened and the country would lose its normal socio-economic balance (Erakat, 2014). Much needed changes It is also a fact that many among the refugees are highly qualified and can potentially help to develop the condition of the country where they are seeking protection. The government needs to understand that they have lost everything apart from their life and it would be nice to stand beside them and not to throw them to some prison cells or keep them in refugee camps and not doing something for them (Mitropoulos, 2015). It is a fact that looking at the oppressions the refugees face in todays world many countries along with United Kingdom and Australia are taking initiatives in amending the laws related to this issue. Hidden Ideas From this article, it can be said that government officials of various countries look at the flow of political refugees like a source of extra income or scapegoats for varieties of scams. Some politicians and government officials use them for their own good and makes huge money, and if they get caught,, they blame these innocents and these people who have already lost everything goes back behind the bars and this evil process needs to be tamed as this practice can destroy the trust and bond between people (Erakat, 2014). The Philosophy of History

The Philosophy of HistoryTo borrow a phrase from Goethe, 'all it takes to make a name for oneself is to know the Goethe topic,' but in reality, I think of my Goethe topic as a passport into the psyche of Goethe. As the Great German Novelist himself knew, history is the substance of human existence and, if we can learn to pay attention to the period at which we are living, and those before us, we become much more aware of what is going on with the world we live in.Goethe's first book, The Philosophy of History, traces Goethe's philosophy of the past, beginning with the 'Gesta Regum' - the First Book of the German History. Even though his philosophy of history has little relevance to present-day events in which we are involved, we are capable of looking back to this historical period and tracing its journey through the mind of the author. This process begins with the simple act of looking at the title of the first Goethe book.To borrow a word from Simon Schama, Goethe wrote in his phil osophy of history as if we were the narrator to a story, telling the story through the narrator's voice. It is hard to imagine that Goethe wrote any other way; his voice was the most expressive of any German author and all of this in spite of his being the exact opposite of a raconteur.Of course Goethe wrote as if he were a 'history' writer; no one would mistake him for Samuel Butler. He used the short, accessible prose of Middle High German to write down his thoughts about the past in a succinct, casual manner. His translation of Plato's Timaeus becomes the inspiration for his philosophical side.In fact Goethe was probably one of the first Europeans to look to the Ancient Greeks for guidance, as in his 'Vita Stirnzel' (or Treatise on Air). His translation of Aristotle's Politics is also an influence on his writings on politics. In his philosophy of history, Goethe also uses the famous Greek 'imagination' in tracing back the theme of his novels: Nietzsche's works such as The Genealog y of Morals, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Twilight of the Idols, and The Antichrist. With his translations of Homer, Virgil, Cicero, Aristotle, and others, Goethe found ways to bring back the Greek into our day to day lives. It is no accident that his books were called 'Philosophy of History.'In his own life, Goethe found time to follow the philosophy of history through his life as well. He learned to read, write, and speak in that philosophy of history that can be traced from Greece to the present. In his famous 'Address to the German Nation,' in which he dedicated a part of his speech to the German people, he gave a history of the German nation that includes the successive waves of German history, and the numerous generations of Germans that have passed before him.So while he may not have been the best academic theologian, or perhaps the best American historian, he has managed to make his philosophy of history on his own. It is only by paying attention to what has gone before us that w e can find our place in the scheme of things, and Goethe provided a clear and direct outline.

Sample Statement and Contrast Essay

Sample Statement and Contrast EssayThe term 'sample thesis statement' is one that you will most likely come across in your college admissions. You may have even written one of these before and wondered what they were. Do not worry, because this topic is extremely important to understand before attempting to write one. This brief article will outline the differences between a sample and a comparison essay.A sample thesis and comparison are the exact same thing. In fact, in general when writing a comparison essay you should assume that a sample is being used as a guide to help you with your draft. When applying for school, you must be able to review your application and figure out how to compare various topics. In other words, you must be able to do this quickly. This is because the college is looking for students who can articulate their thoughts and motivations in a coherent manner. In essence, they want you to present yourself well in front of the admissions officer, so that you stan d out from the other applicants. What makes sample thesis statements so important is that they are meant to be used as a template or guide for you. While you can determine exactly what is going to be included, and which parts will be relevant, it is important to remember that it is still your draft and you must use it as such. You must also include a letter of recommendation on your sample. Your letter of recommendation must be very specific and written with a list of questions. In other words, it should ask about your reasoning for the applicant and if the sample is to be used as a personal statement. Finally, a contrast essay is done very differently. Whereas a sample thesis and comparison are doing to summarize your opinion, a contrast essay is usually done to discuss how your college will react to your speech. In short, it is used to serve as an early look at your profile. As a result, in contrast essays you are likely to compare your work to others and highlight different parts of it. Be careful, however, as you should not attempt to completely discredit yourself.

The Art of the Tattoo Essay Example For Students

The Art of the Tattoo Essay Around the 1990s, a five thousand year old tattooed man, Otzi the Ice Man, was discovered on a mountain between Austria and Italy bearing 57 tattoos; he is the first person known to have markings on his body which has evolved to be known as tattoos. The art of Tattoo has been around for many thousands of years. The styles and reasons for it have varied from individuals as they have from culture, society, or group. Some tattoos were done for simple adornment, as a symbol of a certain group, or for religious beliefs. Tattooing has existed in one form or a another across the globe since before recorded history and the popularity of this unique form of expression will most likely continue for centuries to come. Although the basic concept of tattoo has been a constant throughout the history of mankind the styles and reasons for it have evolved along with mans own evolution. Despite the reasoning behind getting a tattoo there are pros and cons to keep in mind. Initially, there are a few pros to getting a tattoo including self expression, advanced technology, and adornment (depending on how people view it). We will write a custom essay on The Art of the Tattoo specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Most of the times, a tattoo is a representation of ones belief, culture, or a simple part of oneself. Everyone has their own way of expressing their unique characteristics and tattoos can be one form of that. Tattoos were very common in the ancient Egypt culture; temporary tattoos known as henna, is also very popular amongst the South Asian culture as an expression of beauty and adornment. Also, with todays advanced technologies and strict regulations, it can be safe to get a tattoo. With newer machines and stricter safety regulations, it is more convenient to get a tattoo now versus getting a tattoo 10 years ago. Before Sam Reilly invented the tattoo machine, ancient cultures used instruments that were painful and unsanitary. Now with medication and quick machines, anyone can get a tattoo and bear the pain easily. On the other hand, along with the pros, getting a tattoo comes with a price. Unfortunately, most of us are sucked into the corruption of society. We care about what society has to say on clothing, appearance, or form of self-expression. Even in todays modern time, people judge based on someone carries themselves. The working environment frowns upon people with tattoos. Whether getting a tattoo is right or wrong, people associate tattoos with negativity. Furthermore, getting a tattoo definitely can be a huge risk on ones health. Not only is it painful, even with the new technology, it can be risky if the tattoo artists do not follow the procedures carefully. Getting a tattoo can put you at risk for contracting a variety of illnesses from a bacterial infection to HIV. Therefore, it is important to make sure, when getting a tattoo, the tattoo artist has proper legal documents proving his profession. Also, tattoos are permanent and though they can be removed, it can be painful and expensive. In conclusion, tattoos may be a symbol of religion and culture, but at the end of the day tattoos can be an irresponsible decision made by young adults and risky. It affects ones possibility to maintain a professional outlook in the workplace and also diminishes ones reputation, regardless of its symbolic meaning or artistry. Though one should not conform to society, the struggle to get a job can influence one to take such measures. Because we, as humans, change our perspectives as we grow older, tattoos tend to be regretted; tattoos can be painful and expensive to remove.
